Hmm.

flashplugin-installer actually shows as a hard dependency of
flashplugin-nonfree on my system (aptitude show flashplugin-nonfree), so
installer was installed automatically.

Anyway, I uninstalled them both and this made U1MS work (having first
checked that it was still crashing after today's round of upgrades). For
completeness' sake, I then closed rhythmbox, reinstalled flashplugin-
nonfree (which pulled in flashplugin-installer automatically), and
opened rhythmbox again to prove that it had stopped working. Curiously,
however, *it now works*, and has just finished pulling an album into my
U1 storage!

So to repeat, a (slightly nasty) workaround for anyone playing at home
whose rhythmbox crashes when an album or song is chosen in U1MS:

*Close rhythmbox from the panel icon if it's open
*Uninstall flashplugin-nonfree and flashplugin-installer
*Check if rhythmbox is now working as expected, then close it again
*Reinstall flashplugin-nonfree and flashplugin-installer
*Hopefully rhythmbox continues to work as expected.

I have no idea why this should work. Particularly since I didn't purge
them, just removed - so no flash config files should have gotten
changed. Also, no dependent or other packages got removed, upgraded or
changed in any way.

Ho hum.
