The same issue with Pioneer DVR-212D.

Mounting can be forced by pressing "format disk" in the Disk Utility.
After an error message the disk is recognized. Appearently the initial
reading of disk fails for some reason. No issue with the same drive and
system in Karmic and prior versions.
