This bug is probably related to KStatusNotifierItem. Kopetes and also Amarok tray menus has problems with positioning. This sometimes drastically degrades user-friendliness. This happens only on first opening of menu. Also with Amarok, probably all applications using the same backend. On [2] you can see that submenu is opened "out of monitor" -> this also happens only on first opening, but only until whole tray menu is closed. On [3] you can see, that some of the submenus can completely override "parent" menu.
