Well, as explained in another bug report, the -desktop packages provide
a set of applications, and are not designed to be flexible, e.g. we
depend on 'xfwm4' and not on 'xfwm4 | x-window-manager'; same for
xfce4-session or gdm. So this won't happen.

Anyway, I agree that this gdm is a major pain (along with all that app-
indicator stuff pulled by the gnome applications we ship), and we should
definitely reevaluate this for lucid+1.
