I can' t actually reproduce it on my system, but I wonder if this could be
caused by the reverse DNS loockup taking too long (just a wild guess, it
shouldn't do this since it should be threaded), in which case it could be an
issue with your IP provider.
As a simple test, try eliminating the rhost entries and see if it still does
the same.
I' m not familiar at all with this part of the code anyway, I think you should
report this in the upstream bug tracker
(http://sourceforge.net/projects/conky/).
