I am running with nvidia-current-195.36.15 with anti-aliasing (hinting: full, sub-pixel order: RGB) and Custom DPI setting: 96. I never saw this phenomenon in previous Ubuntu, Xubuntu versions or other Linuxes. The effect reminds me of those of a low-quality analog display I had to work with several years ago.
