Same thing here but with DVD/RW. Binary package devicekit-disks suspected. Update 007-2ubuntu6 on 2010/303/31(GMT+11:00) caused ASUS DRW-2014L1T to fail to be recognised and mounted. Downgrading to previous version solves problem.
