by looking at the info you provided, I suspect that the problem lies in
your video card/driver. But before giving you my opinion, I would like
you to help me narrow it down:
Could you provide me the output of xresprobe?
Could you provide me with a more detailed X log file (you should start the X
server with a verbose level of at least 5)?
