Apologies for the delay in getting back on this one. Initially I was unable to unearth anything useful to post for diagnostic purposes. I was then sent off to site for a few weeks. On my return I needed to install Vector SOHO on the computer in order to match the clients Slackware system. So I regret that I am unable to post anything further that may be helpful except that Vector has been running faultlessly on the same system for five weeks thus indicating that it was not a hardware problem.
