Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: go-home-applet

Might be some kind of obscure configuration bug. The netbook-launcher
was not in the list to automatically start on login, so I added it
manually in Startup Applications. After a restart, the netbook-launcher
runs just fine. When I click the go-home-applet, my X server instantly
crashes and sends me to the GDM screen. I am not running the "Netbook
Edition" but the Desktop with the netbook launcher and go-home-applet
installed via synaptic.

I will wait for any requests for debugging information before I try the
following! However I think if I delete the configuration files related
to the netbook-launcher and the go-home-applet the issue will be
resolved. Once I do so I will report my findings. The applet worked on
the first use, but not after a reboot.

What should have happened: Hiding all windows and showing the netbook-launcher.
What happened instead: The X server crashed.
