Both the earlier Ubuntu 7.04 alpha 5 and one downloaded on 3/16/07 gag (lock-up) computer if rtl8187 wifi is attached.
Earlier alpha 5 passes its own md5sum check. New alpha 5 passes md5 sum check before and after burning to cd. If wifi not attached, earlier 7.04 alpha 5 sees _only_ sata primary; later 7.04 alpha 5 sees _only_ ide secondary. Please recall this sata/ide problem was originally reported as 6.1 Ubuntu problem not seeing ide secondary. No wifi problem at all in 6.1 PCLinuxOS, with a 2.6.18 kernel, also has trouble with sata primary and ide secondary. Takes 'forever' on boot- up, eventually giving up on the ide drives, examining and rejecting each partition one at a time. -- ide secondary drives not recognized https://launchpad.net/bugs/85578 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
