Public bug reported:
I've been running a clean install of Fiesty for several weeks now. The
first kernel version I have installed is 2.6.20-6. The other day I
performed an "apt-get update; apt-get dist-upgrade". This installed a
new version of the kernel. The new version was 2.6.20-10-generic.
When I cold booted the system after the install, the usplash screen
loads and the progress bar stops at about 2 or 3 percent and hangs. The
progress bar never moves and it doesn't finish booting. If I try
starting the system using the recovery mode it gets to a point where I
start seeing ATA errors. If I select the 2.6.20-9-generic kernel or
prior version the system boots fine within 30 seconds. I've since
performed another dist-upgrade and now have the 2.6.20-11-generic kernel
installed and it hangs the same as the -10 kernel.
I realize that you guys may need logs, but I'm unsure of what to send.
Feel free to contact me and I'll provide you with any logs that you
need.
