Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: hotkey-setup

I recently purchased a PS/2 K/B from Cherry:

http://www.cherry.fr/english/products/cable_keyboards_cymotion_expert.htm

It has many special keys (not all of them are very useful ;-).
On Edgy, none of the keys work out of the box.
In Feisty Herd 5 Live CD, from which I am writing this bug report, it's better
: some of the keys work.

Here is what works and what doesn't. I put the scan code as seen by
Gnome K/B preferences GUI, in braces.

These functions are mapped to the normal function keys, and are accessed using
a special modifier key.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
MOD + F1 (0xea) "Browser back" : doesn't work
MOD + F2 (0xe9) "Browser next" : doesn't work
MOD + F3 (0xe8) "Browser Cancel" : doesn't work
MOD + F4 (0xe7) "Browser Reload" : doesn't work
MOD + F5 (0xa2) "Play/Pause" : doesn't work (it WAS assigned, but to the
function "Pause", instead of play/pause, which obviously doesn't give the
expect result...
MOD + F6 (0xa4) "music Stop": doesn't work
MOD + F7 (0x90) "music Previous track": doesn't work
MOD + F8 (0x99) "music Next track": doesn't work
MOD + F9 (0xe5) "Search (file manager)" : WORKS
MOD + F10 (0xeb) "Depicts a computer icon": doesn't work
MOD + F11 (0xe6) "Depicts a folder icon": doesn't work

These keys are dedicated, direct access to the function:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Volume up (0xb0): WORKS
Volume down (0xae): WORKS
Volume mute (0xa0): WORKS
Launch e-mail client (0xec): WORKS
Launch Calculator (0xe1): WORKS
Launch Web browser (0xb2): WORKS
Launch media player (0xed) : doesn't work, appears to be already assigned to
0x76, which doesn't exist on my K/B (!)
Suspend to RAM (0xdf): WORKS (though it actually fails to suspend, and gives an
error message bubble in the notification area, but I guess this is a different
problem ! ;-)
