I know the issue now,
Because on start up my disks are thrashing I switched in prefes "connect
on start up" to NEVER.
I also set this because at work I go through a VPN and they do not like
the extra traffic.
This I believe caused the error when trying to access the ubuntuone
drive.
Also I believe the sync deamon was still trying to sync, even though I
had my setting set to never.
I consider that my problem is fixed, however the bug still exists.
