This seems to be fixed now for Lucid in poppler 0.12.4-0ubuntu3, which
has since been superseded by poppler 0.12.4-0ubuntu4. The graphs look
much better.

Please reopen this bug if it is not fixed for you on Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid
Lynx beta updated to the latest available versions of poppler and
evince.
