** Description changed: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati On fresh installs of beta 1 of Lucid, a number of ATI HD-series card users have been reporting random crashes ( http://ubuntuforums.org/newreply.php?do=newreply&noquote=1&p=9058263 ). This appears to occur in Radeon HD 2400 and Radeon HD 4800 series cards. During one of these crashes, the screen suddenly goes into sleep mode. The system does not respond to user keyboard input. Additionally, there is nothing in the logs around the time of the crash. The crashes occur at random intervals from one minute to 2 hours after booting and do not appear to be correlated with any particular user action. + + [lspci] + 00:00.0 Host bridge [0600]: Intel Corporation 4 Series Chipset DRAM Controller [8086:2e20] (rev 02) + Subsystem: Intel Corporation Device [8086:5001] + 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller [0300]: ATI Technologies Inc RV770 [Radeon HD 4850] [1002:9442] + Subsystem: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
