** Attachment added: "lspci output"
   http://librarian.launchpad.net/6846351/lspci.out

** Description changed:

- I installed a Sonnet Technologies Tempo Trio card in a whitebox PC. It
- is a combo card (ATA133, USB 2.0, FW 400) with a Promise based IDE
- controller. At boot the kernel does a prob but fails to detect the
- drives connected. I've checked the power, cables, and drives by
- connecting them to the motherboard's IDE controllers: they all are
- checked to be in working order.
