I don't have any objections if you wish to package 0.6.4 for Ubuntu. Both 0.6.4 
and 0.7.2 have similar bugs fixes applied, which would satify most of users. :)
I would vote for 0.7 since that's the one I have tried out. Probably another 10 
users (that I know of) have tested the 0.7 series from the gnote ppa repository.

Since 0.6.2 (that is currently in ubuntu):
* Bugs fixed: Numerous fixes have been applied (one of them fixes a minor 
crashing event)
* Internationalization: Translations have been updated and new ones included.
* lucid is a long-term release, I believe it should have an up-to-date version 
of each application, including gnote, in the repositories.
