I have also EasyNote MX65 laptop with PRO/Wireless 3945ABG [Golan] wlan card under my care. Symptoms are as with previous posters. NetworkManager can see all of the APs, but can't connect to them. See attached logs for details. There is also the difference that I haven't tried with encrypted connection. So for me this happends on unencrypted connections. This affects both Karmic and Lucid beta1.
