Charles, it probably just needs to be fixed in the unattended install script, but Ubuntu should definitely be checking for nonsensical keyboard layouts. A simple sanity check when the keyboard is detected by hal should be enough. Throw a prompt if we get an undefined layout type. Should we be checking during the post-install? or at every keyboard plug-in?
