I've been told this is similar to another bug: CD/DVD not recognised after being blanked.
As I don't have any more blank discs, I cannot provide you with any more information at the moment. Please try using Brasero on as many Ubuntu systems as possible, especially 64-bit ones (I'm using 64-bit Ubuntu), hopefully you will find out more.
