Is this reproducible when using the ubuntu-logo plymouth theme? (verifiable by installing plymouth-theme-ubuntu-logo and running sudo update-alternatives --set default.plymouth /lib/plymouth/themes/ubuntu- logo/ubuntu-logo.plymouth)
