Maybe I'll try to uninstall the vbetool package and the related ones. I have ubuntu 9.04 on a Acer Aspire One D250, and to fit perfectly my ubuntu version with my netbook, I installed a kernel properly modiefied to support pousblo drivers for video card...so I'm a bit afraid to do what you have done! What do tou think about it??
