Hi Daniel, Robert and I have tested removing linux-backports-modules- alsa-karmic-generic and installing linux-alsa-driver-modules-2.6.31 from the ubuntu-audio-dev ppa and still had the issue of audio not coming out of the headphones after a reboot.
