Thank you for taking the time to report this bug, unfortunately it is
far to vague right now to be useful. I have several suggestions to help
us make it less vaque:
Open a terminal and try rm .openoffice.org/ -rf (this clears your openoffice
settings)
If you are having trouble with specific documents, attach them - and describe
how exactly the crash occurs
Try running the official OpenOffice.org (from their site) and see if it is any
better
Your description says that this bug is reliable, could you record the
actions up until the crash and test the same procedure on a different
machine?
You may also want to try doing a memory check, to rule that out.
