You can open a terminal (Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal) and run the
following to get the information needed:
lsb_release -rd
apt-cache policy compiz
** Package changed: ubuntu => compiz (Ubuntu)
** Changed in: compiz (Ubuntu)
Status: New => Incomplete
