I have a Dell Inspiron Mini 10, sound Silicon Image SiI1392 HDMI. Internal microphone not working on Ubuntu Netbook Remix 9.10. I installed linux-backports-modules-alsa-karmic-generic and reboot as said Daniel T Chen on post #4. Then in Terminal run alsamixer, and configure de volumes, using tab, rows, and 'm' key to 'on'-'off'. Sound and microphone are working now. Thank you Daniel T Chen.
