I also have this problem, the fan does not come on at all, it has come on occasionally in the bios setup but will never come on when running ubuntu (9.1)
I have read elsewhere that it can be fixed by updating the bios but the update acer provides is windows based and as I only have ubuntu on my system I cant seem to update it. Any ideas on how to run acers bios update ? or anything else that might help. Im new to ubuntu so this is all rather alien to me ...
