hi Jan,

Here goes:
- attaching a copy of /etc/mtab, freshly pulled off a live cd session
- in Nautilus the disk is reported as Local Disc, found in /media/local disk
- Gparted lists 2 disks: /dev/sda and /dev/sdb, both about 37GB
- Gparted also reports 'Partition table unrecognized' and 'Warning: can't have
a partition outside the disc'
- Disk Utility sees both /dev/mapper/pdc_jcchiiab (80GB, no file system) and
/dev/mapper/pdc_jcchiiab1 (80GB, not partitioned, but NTFS anyway)

Hope this helps. Maybe I can partition this array using the alternative
CD (text mode and 'straight' parted) but I'd like the LiveCD to handle
this right from the start.

cheers
Tom
