Binary package hint: empathy

problems with the desktop. When I try to change my Appearance (System ->
Preferences -> Appearance), when I select the normal or extra mode for
Visual Effects, program fails to save the settings, it hangs.

Besides, when I start Ubuntu I get a problem: starting application I do
not get the control bars in the application, and I cannot move the
windows. Moreover, the application do not appear in the applet; also the
workspace switcher does not appear.

When run from terminal, I get the following warning:
