I can confirm this bug. The only difference is that I can't even watch
the video with Gnome-Mplayer. It renders the same way as the YouTube
example posted above. Additionally, recordmydesktop takes ages to encode
the video.
I'm using KDE over a command-line only installation of Ubuntu 10.04 Beta
