Public bug reported:

Every external drive i format (using gparted) belongs to root and cannot be 
used as a normal user.
It can't be written nor read. independet of which file system is being used (i 
tried fat32 and ext3)
iItried to us a little 512mb usb stick and 2 200gb firewire drives.

they get mounted but i can't change the permissions
