Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: mythtv
There are dozens of forum postings and complaints on mailing lists with
regard to what happens when a user not in the mythtv group attempts to
start mythtv.
A randomly generated password is placed in /etc/mythtv/mysql.txt with
permissions for mythtv:mythtv. If the user isn't in the mythtv group,
they won't read this file on startup of the frontend. This causes them
to try to use the default password "mythtv" to connect, and not work.
Even when they are added to the group, the default password mythtv is
written to ~/.mythtv/mysql.txt which overrides /etc/mythtv/mysql.txt
