Attaching a debdiff for a wrapper script to prevent this in the future.
The script will detect the env that it is being launched from
(kde,xfce,gnome), and use the appropriate tools (gksu,kdesu,zenity) to
add the user to the mythtv group and log them out of the session.

This has been added to the bzr branch for ubuntu-mythtv as well.
