I have the same problem.
I was trying to install ubuntu 10.04 beta2 alternate amd64. (the icon of the
installer from the desktop version crashes as soon as i start it).
My computer is toshiba portege r500-12r, with wired, wifi, umts network cards.
With ubuntu 9.10, all the three work fine.
The 10.04 installer says "No network interfaces detected".
If I go on with the installation, i can install ubuntu and when i boot it, it
detects only the wifi and the umts network cards.
