Public bug reported:
I tried both the latest Beta x64 ISO's for Desktop and for Server and
both end up failing.
They report that either the DVD/CD is bad -or- the Hard Disk is bad.
I've tried 2 different hard disks -- one was new and unformatted.
-- HD's are eSata
-- one was Hitachi and one was Seagate
I've burned the 2 DVD's (one for desktop and one for server) using two
different tools
under Windows 7 (one tool was Nero Burning ROM).
I don't think the DVDs or my HDs are bad. I think there is something with
these .ISO
files that fails to complete installation.
I can turn around and install Karmic onto the same drive just fine ??
my system is generic:
amd phenom II x940
8 G ddr2 ram
1 TB seagate
2 TB seagate
2 TB hitachi
Gigabyte motherboard GA-MA78GM-32H w/latest f/w
