xsession-errors are actually for client errors, not for X.org crashes.
Also you said you are seeing a 'crash' but I wonder if what you mean is
you're seeing a 'freeze' (aka a GPU hang) which is already a known issue
for i845. I'll assume this to be the case and dupe the bug.
