Binary package hint: xmodmap
I have been adding the following to my Spanish keyboard since a few years ago.
xmodmap -e 'keycode 48 = dead_acute dead_diaeresis dead_acute dead_diaeresis
braceleft dead_caron'
The braceleft and braceright could be input by using either alt or
shift-alt, and this allowed me to be able to input Czech names. I just
noticed that braceright, which used to be input either with alt or
shift-alt, now provides dead_breve, which is also useful.
I would like to request that dead_caron be added as well to the default
Spanish keyboard, since it's a pity to waste shift-alt-braceleft.
