The only thing I know might work is to run the BIOS updater over wine...
which seems risky... I don't even know if it would work. I'm not sure if
wine would let a windows program have access to the BIOS.

Another option may be to make a windows boot disk and see if the bios
can be updated trough a DOS prompt.

This is really more of a question to ask Acer. See if there is a way to
get support through their site.
