Sound output through the both the USB headphones and onboard speakers still works fine, even after the input via the USB headset microphone has crashed.
Just to be clear, the "USB disconnected/connected" messages in the log I posted are me physically unplugging and replugging the headset in order to re-initialize whatever sound system it is that crashes. Input stops working, I shut down the application, unplug the USB headset, plug the headset back in again, and restart the application. Repeat every 10 minutes. The only other system I can test on is an IBM Thinkpad running Jaunty.
