I agree with the original reporter, this is a regression. I use this for copying file locations into scripts, etc. Very useful to have this.
The icon which existed in previous versions to change between breadcrumbs to location bar, is now gone. Why? You can use CTRL+L to get it back, but this is temporary, and you have to know about it. The fix mentioned above using gconf-editor is not exactly user friendly (for any level of user! I have been using Ubuntu since 6.10 and don't want to have to use gconf-editor to get back this basic functionality). Please fix this.
