Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xpdf

I've recently upgraded to Lucid beta 2, and I've noticed a big change in
xpdf. I'm used to xpdf rendering and scrolling very quickly, and after
the upgrade it scrolls so slowly as to be unusable for many pdf's. It's
really a very dramatic change on my system. If necessary, I can attach
some PDF's for which there is a big difference. Thanks for any attention
you can give this issue.
