Looks like a syntax error in the file /etc/default/console-setup:
/etc/default/console-setup: line 42: unexpected EOF while looking for
matching `"'
Also, I've thought to have posted a comment like that already?!
I cannot reproduce it, but @whoever can: is the error the same?
Maybe your file got corrupted.
Try in a shell:
$ cd /etc/default
$ md5sum console-setup
6543fd69d8f0926f11700c638a33382c console-setup
$ ls -l console-setup
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 1952 2010-04-15 20:26 console-setup
