personally I dont understand why its needed? i searched the ubuntu forums and someone game me a great way to install it in 2 min First download the rockbox utility Extract it into something like /opt/rockbox/ (do this under sudo) Then right click your applications menu and select "edit menus" Make a new entry in sound or whatever you want your pretty much done now i just did it and upgraded my rockbox firmware all in 10 min along with changing my theme.
