Can't confirm this, it works for me...
Please do the following: Open two terminals. In the first one you execute this
command(s):
sudo killall packagekitd;sudo packagekitd --verbose
In the second terminal, you do
pkcon install kubuntu-restricted-extras
The first terminal will fill with log messages from packagekit. Copy all to a
file and attach it here.
