Although this is not exactly the place to do so, in lack of a more fitting one I am leaving this here. After trying every workaround I could find concerning this issue, even for older versions of Pidgin, I am still experiencing the same trouble, because of which Pidgin has become not usable for me anymore. I finally decided to file this as a bug (which it definitely is, or am I missing something?), hoping to at least get any kind of reaction, may it be a reference to an existing bug that matches my description or something like "We are currently out of manpower but will look into it" or "We are not interested, go away". For half a month, however, no such thing has happened, which feels like the latter. A simple response of any kind would at least make me see that reporting bugs is not completely pointless, however, if this stays without a response, too, I will have to abandon using Pidgin for any project that is interested in keeping their users.
