Oh! I now see the same problem when using Open Office 3.2 Spreadsheet. The right-hand side of DVI-I-1, about a third, doesn't display column names or a right-clicked dropdown menu. Another screenshot is attached.
This no longer looks so much like a Vim issue, but I don't know where to report this bug.
