This is still happening. Every so often I have to unmount all bound
filesystems and remount them. Every time this happens it plays havoc
with my system, because every file is suddenly a directory, and that
directory contains the same directories again, so that any recursive
process goes into an endless loop.

It seems to happen regularly when I use Filezilla for some strange
reason. But not always, and just now it happened while Filezilla was not
running at all.

It's frustrating and disappointing to get no response whatsoever... I
know Ubuntu is free and I'm not entitled to anything, but this is an
extremely nasty bug in a low level operating system component. I would
have thought someone would be interested in trying to fix it, if not to
help me.
