Also, are there any errors in ~/.xsession-errors? Finally, do you indeed have nm-vpnc-auth-dialog and two other helper programs in /usr/lib/network-manager-vpnc, as configured in /etc/NetworkManager/VPN/nm-vpnc-service.name?
