Ok, I've tried with Lucid Beta2 livecd and sound works fine and the audio hardware is listed in the Sound applet. Tried booting several times and no problem.
I did a double check though, and also booted Karmic live to check if possibly there is something with my configuration that creates the problem. However, Karmic still does not recognize my audio hardware even in the live image configuration! Both systems i tried are AMD64/x86-64.
